07-25-07 - This afternoon the 18 box was hit for the house fire on W. Columbia Road.  Engine 19 arrived as the second in engine and secured it's own water supply.  The fire ran into the attic and 2 lines were deployed to assist with extinguishment as well as exposure protection.  In addition to the suppression efforts, the 35 and 24 foot ladders were thrown to assist with the operation.  While crews were operating on this call another call came in in our first due for smoke in the basement.  Transfer companies, Tanker 19, and Chief 19 (Dressler) found a small tan bark fire to the rear of the house with no extension.  Thanks to Engine 133 (New Kingstown) and Tanker 25 (Monroe) for the cover-up and assisting with returning our apparatus to service!!
